Tropical Storm Ondoy Aftermath, Today's Blog Action Day and Tomorrow's Step on Climate Change

A few days after the tropical storm Ondoy hit our place, I visited nearby areas and observed the damages it brought. And one of the many things that caught my attention was the muddy handprint and handwritten "HELP". The person who did this must be trapped by the 5ft floodwater. I couldn't imagine what he suffered.

Recently another storm, Pepeng hit the Philippines.

And the two devastating typhoons become the highlights of climate change in the world's top stories.

This call for HELP symbolizes not only the victims of the said typhoons rather a wake up call for all of us to protect our environment, help resolve global crisis and combat climate change.

The knowledge of the bloggers who joined this Blog Action Day, the proper action of our wise leaders, and our very own intelligent steps can make a difference... make our world really a better place.

Google Surprise For Me No. 1

When I tried to key in my name on Google, one of the results is linked to www.scribd.com/, an online news publication site. I wondered why, so I checked on it. And there I found the scribe of my Alma Mater.

Not only that, much to my surprise, there I found the article published when our CITE (College of Information Technology Education) entry for best student research got the first place.

I'd just like to make some clarifications on the information published (I don't mean any harm on the publisher since it was published a few years ago).

The title of our research study was, "Effectiveness of My Interactive Teacher".

And it happened that I, Edith Abalos and Dennis Crisostomo, were the presentors of the team so the award was given to us. But the whole My I.Teacher Team together with our adviser, Ms. Elsa Isip and CITE, deserved the credit.

Know what? I found another article that put me in astonishment and gave me pride. I will post it next.

Happy! A quick 6 mins post.

Thanks to Ate Joy!

I'm so happy. Every moment spent with you is a treasure. Whether personally or just via chat.

You are an awesome friend, really!

Thank God, He sent you to me.

What a wonderful friendship we have.

Wherever you are I wish you and your family peace and joy!

No wonder why your parents named you Joy. Simply because you bring JOY. Not only to your home but also for others home (the heart!)

This is the affirmation that you bring joy. Just what you've done.

The talk we just had still sinks into me.

Love this happy feeling.

Thanks! Mwuaaah hugggggs!

Not so happy today!

I'm not in good mood, the reason why? Secret! I don't want to indulge myself into it.

I'll just shift my thoughts to better things.

Don't Despise The Days of Small Beginnings

The Bible says, "Though your beginning was small, your latter end will greatly increase" (Job 8:7).

When I bought this small jar, I didn't know or even thought that I would keep my coins here. I just wanted to have it displayed on my bedboard.

Before, there were times that I just let those coins, that seem invaluable to me, scattered in my room. Those amount of money seemed small to me.

I don't know what came into my mind that I put my excess and heavy coins (in any amount) in there. I just continued shooting my excess penny there.

Till such time, my niece asked me for a penny that she needed. I noticed that coin jar and realized the value of it. It took time for me to collect an even amount of money in that jar that could provide a simple need. From one, two, three coins... I collected a greater amount.

The same thing with other aspects in life.

When I graduated in college and started working, I patiently waited for my growth. I have sowed things that has been helpful for me until now. There were times that I thought my job was hard and I could not pursue it.

But I keep working and I didn't give up despite that thought. I continued learning, extending time in the office, reading resources, asking advice and researching and doing everything that I could possibly do to be better at work. It includes hardwork, patience and stretching my critical thinking.

And that is one of the wisest decisions I ever made in life. Thanks for the people who taught me, believed in me and pushed me up.

I never lost the desire to be in that career.

Today, I realized that the seeds I sowed since I started working make me better. Things get easy. I learned a lot and I have to learn even more. The things that I love to do at this very time is a good foundation that I'm laying for tomorrow.

When we stop learning, we stop growing. When we stop growing, we stop living.
